| Management of sustainable relations. Management successively has used different techniques. Those techniques were primarily based on the improvement of specific actions and accomplishing specific goals. This has made them rather dogmatic. The problem of this way of managing lies in the trick (you just do the trick and everything is solved) and the instability of it (this is not how I am, this does not suit me). The newest insights in management are focussing on the origin of the action, the manager himself.
In creating awareness of his own thoughts, feelings and actions, the manager can learn to better understand his partner in conversation. Through this understanding and to recognize it in the other a sustainable relationship is an obvious result creating satisfaction for both.
This workshop is suitable for people who manage and people who are being managed. The improvement of awareness for the manager makes him more open in all kinds of different communication. The improvement of awareness for the subordinate makes him less vulnerable and more assertive. In this workshop of three parts, you will get plenty of time to practice. First part is about observing the way our brains act. Second, what do I observe in my own responses and how can I improve my awareness. And third, how do I perceive the other and how do I use this information to make the relationship more sustainable. Structure. The workshop consists of four parts of 4 hours each. During those four sessions we improve our observation skills, listen to our senses of positive and negative energy and create awareness. The result is an open response, without aggression, towards the partner in conversation. The whole workshop is very practical, without learning tricks. The sessions are connected with some preparatory assignments. Preparatory assignment: individual exploration. It: How we observe and how our brains function; how we can improve our decision making knowing how restricted and coloured our information is? We create awareness and discuss how this influences the way we manage. We learn how to improve listening and observing our own reflexes. Preparatory assignment: reflection. Me: How well do I know myself; how does my unconsciousness leads me, what are my beliefs that define my responses? We create awareness of the unknown. We link both, belief and response, to our role as manager. Also, what is my place in this organization? Is this the right place? What is my motivation? Preparatory assignment: beliefs The Other: In this part we discuss meta-thinking. What does the other think? What do I think the other is thinking? What do I think the other thinks I am thinking? How communication and especially meta-thinking disturbs conversations. In this session we learn how to create awareness of meta-thinking and how we can improve and strengthen communication and thereby make it more effective. Noise disappears, we learn to connect to the other without prejudices, to better understand the other and create mutuality. Preparatory assignment: irritations. Integration: Integrate the experiences from the former parts, creating knowledge of your own thinking patterns and how to control them during your communication to stay focused.
